Volunteering
HEARTH invites you, as an individual or as a group, to help
homeless families become independent and self-sufficient.
Your volunteer opportunities are numerous and flexible.
1. Apartment Transition Volunteer
2. Move-Out Mentor

Drivers needed for transportation to and from grocery store during the winter months. For more information or to be considered for this volunteer position, please contact Vicky Gill at (412) 939-2302 x 13.

Housekeeping Specialist to train program participants on a one-to-one basis on appropriate housekeeping skills, including both cleaning and organizing. For more information or to be considered for this volunteer position, please contact Vicky Gill at (412) 939-2302 x 13.
Individuals can:
• Provide evening child care in a group setting
• Prepare apartments for new families
• Tutor our program participants
• Organize and clean the child care room and playground area
• Maintain our storage areas
• Pick up donations of furniture
• Volunteer at our fundraising events
- Tee and Green golf outing held in June
- The Art of Wine and Food held in the fall
- Purses with a Purpose in the winter
• Coordinate a collection of needed items from our Wish List
• Sell House Pins to benefit our programs
• Serve on one of our committees
- Tee and Green golf outing held in June
- The Art of Wine and Food held in the fall
- Purses with a Purpose in the winter
- Communications Committee
- Resource Development Committee
• Serve on the board of directors
Groups can:
• Provide evening child care in a group setting
• Paint apartments
• Coordinate a collection of needed items from our Wish List
• Choose HEARTH as your United Way Day of Caring site
• Sell House Pins to benefit our programs
• Sponsor a family for the holidays
• Volunteer at our fundraising events

- Purses with a Purpose in the winter
Time commitments vary, with some positions being scheduled on a regular basis and some on an as-needed basis.
